Dang, I Miss My Car!

A deep purple four-door Dodge Charger parked whole in view on patchy grass scattered with dry leaves, woods and a weathered wooden split-rail fence behind it and the last warm light on the far treetops

Dang, I miss my car! I'm sitting in it right now, letting it run for a bit.

It lives up by the house for the winter now — that's what all those sketches were for. Parked on the grass where the trees come down, with the old fence running out behind it.

I had to move to electric to afford long distance commuting. That's the plain truth of it — the miles have to go somewhere cheaper now, so this one gets to rest instead.

You don't find out how much you miss a thing until it's standing right there and you're not going anywhere. The purple still catches every tree around it. So I'll sit, and let it run, and take my time about it.
