The Ramp and the Rug

A small black-and-white dog in a puffy vest looking out an open camper doorway at a colorful braided rug laid over a folding ramp

I put the ramp in so the three elderly pups can come and go as they please. Nobody has to be lifted, and nobody has to think about the step.

At first they weren't sure about it. So I added a rug right at the doorway, and once that was down they were much more accepting of the whole thing.

Now the door is just an open door. The ramp goes all the way down to the ground, the rug gives them something soft to step onto instead of bare metal, and they go out and come back on their own schedule.

The ramp runs all the way down, so nobody has to be lifted in or out.
