Digging potatoes from the garden

A wire basket of freshly dug red and golden potatoes, still dusted with garden soil, on a weathered wooden table

Jen began digging potatoes out of the garden today — basket after basket of reds and golds, still wearing a little of the soil they grew up in.

There's something deeply satisfying about it: food that came from our own ground, dug with our own hands.

I'm setting aside the smallest ones to save for seed, so they can start the next go round. Nothing on this farm goes to waste — not even a little potato.
