Food systems: the feed station moves up to the house

The pig feed station set up in the house studio: slow cookers, a pressure cooker, rice and lentils on a rustic wooden table, with a curly golden dog lying on the concrete floor nearby

I worked on food systems yesterday, moving the pig feed station up to the house studio. That frees the stable up to be dedicated to dehydrating, grinding and pelleting the dry feed — one space for cooking, one space for the mill work.

The pigs and dogs get fresh, hot human grade rice and lentils every day, with specific nutrients added for each. Every pot and cooker you see in the photo is part of the daily routine, keeping everyone fed well and healthy.

It feels good to have the systems sorted — good food for the animals, and a place for everything.
