The ducks move to their winter houses

The ducks have been moved to their winter houses, tucked in out of the cold for the season.

None of Latecia's eggs hatched this time around, so they'll be boiled and fed to the pigs — nothing goes to waste on the farm. This was her first attempt at being a mother, and I'm sure it will go better next time. She was so attentive, sitting on that clutch of pale blue eggs with real dedication.

It's the way of things out here. You set the animals up for winter, you make use of what the season gives you, and you try again next spring. Latecia will get another chance, and she'll be ready for it.
